I recently stumbled across this fantastic post by SimonRaper which presents the visualisation of the various influences within the field of philosophy. The information was gleaned from Wikipedia Infoboxes via a single database query. Feeding this data into a program called Gephi enabled him to create a beautiful map of ideas and people. In the coming months I hope to tinker with this leviathan and create some of my own knowledge graphs. I have had a little experience in the past but have only now decide to put these online. I’ll post more on how to create these graphs in future but for now this digital space will be a dumping ground for ongoing projects. You can also buy some of the designs I create on Redbubble.com.
